The international symbol for Parkinson’s disease is a tulip and over the past three years the ‘Tulips for Hope’ fundraiser has raised around 38,000 euros. This year, we have decided to sell packets of bulbs that will produce full-bodied pink tulips.

“We select a different tulip each year in the hope that people will find a place in their gardens or on their terraces for these beautiful flowers and support Parkinson’s research,” Anne-Marie Demoucelle said. “The tulip bulb packets also make wonderful gifts and planting the bulbs is a great activity to do with children!”

Each packet of 20 bulbs will be sold for 15 euros and we aim is to sell 900 packets with the help of 45 volunteers. The bulbs will be available from the end of September until early December and we hope that more people will join the volunteer sales team so we reach more people to raise awareness about this neurodegenerative condition

“It is a wonderfully simple way to get involved. Selling 20 packets of tulip bulbs to your friends, family and colleagues is a manageable target both in terms of time and energy. Every sale sparks a conversation about Parkinson’s disease and helps to fund a promising late-stage research project,’’ said project-initiator Isabelle.
