volunteer olive oilMeet Donatienne Laurent Josi, a volunteer with the Demoucelle Parkinson Charity, who is encouraging people to support Parkinson’s research by buying olive oil from her Mas du Juge olive grove as a gift for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Bottles of 50cl and 75cl, as well as large cans and a recipe book are available by writing to info@demoucelle.com.

How are you supporting the Demoucelle Parkinson Charity?
As we produce olive oil in Provence, we wish to support the DPC by donating a percentage of the sale of our oil.

Why did you choose to support research to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease?
We have known Patrick and Anne-Marie for many years, long before Patrick’s illness began. We were very touched by his story, by the sudden apparition of his illness, and by the way in which this family’s life changed overnight. We have supported the DPC for many years. We admire the work they have done to develop, publicise and grow the Demoucelle Parkinson Charity.

What advice would you give to other people who want to organise an action to support Parkinson’s research?
Illness can knock suddenly on anyone’s door and turn a person’s life upside down without any warning. Do not hesitate to contact (the Demoucelle Parkinson Charity) to find ways to support them. Any action, no matter how small, will help the charity and it’s wider community to grow.

What is your favourite motto to guide your life?
Love, humanity and service to others —  Swami Ramdas, Indian philosopher.
