When we give seminars, participants say they receive a real boost. Months and years later, they tell they still regularly think about the seminar, and that it keeps bringing positive energy. If you too want to ignite your team, immediately and over time, here are 5 tips for you. We use them under difficult circumstances (with a degenerative and incurable disease). So, no excuse–if we can apply them, you can too!

5 tips for successful change management

  1. SMILE: A smile spreads positivity and optimism. With your grin, you convey to those present that things are ok and will turn out well. Did you ever notice how a genuine smile reduces the tensions in the room? But there’s more. Smiling is contagious: when people see you smile, they smile back. So put that expression on your face and do so genuinely.

  2. SHOW PASSION: Think about a dispassionate person, and the energy this person brings to the team. Compare that to a person talking with passion. Got it? So be your passionate self, and be it your own way: twinkling eyes, big gestures, or whatever. Your passion will ‘contaminate’ those around you.

  3. LAUGH: How often do you laugh out loud when you are in a meeting? When children are together, they laugh so often, and it fills them with so much energy. Many adults have forgotten this powerful skill of laughing, especially when at work. Just help bring laughter back in the work space!

  4. USE HUMOR: We love humor as a way to bring energy to teams. Because humor helps create smiles & laughter. Because it’s a great antidote in difficult moments. And because it engages people. That is-if you use it well. Our advice: dare to experiment with humor, yet make sure not to alienate people.

  5. BRING VARIETY: Why are so few people involved in team discussions? Often it is because they experience apathy. And why is that? Because they lack fun and fulfillment! Ensure people are not bored. Bring novelty and excitement. Do or ask something unexpected. Bring positive vibes to your team!

Choose at least 1 of these tips and practice it regularly. You will soon see a positive impact on your team’s energy. The cherry on the cake is that you will increase your own positive energy. What are you waiting for?
